YOUTH MINISTRY
Love God. Love Others.

Youth (6th Grade through 12th Grade)

WHO WE ARE

First Methodist Waco's Youth Ministry recognizes the importance of these pivotal years for our students. Middle school and high school years come with triumphs and challenges, and we want to be there for students and families at every turn. We pour Jesus into our students, provide a wholesome, safe environment, and provide strong, Christ-like mentors. Every staff and volunteer who works with you has been through our rigorous MinistrySafe process to safeguard your child's welfare. Don't try to parent a teenager alone. Youth belong here.

Director of Youth Ministries

"What's up, my friends! I serve the youth of our church and have a passion for making disciples. When I’m not at church you can find me spending time with family and friends, serving in the community, or doing seminary homework. I hope that our youth ministry can be a beacon of hope for teenagers in our church and in our city who haven't yet met the Lord. See you soon!”

Cost $60 until Oct.31

What is SHINE? SHINE is our yearly winter in-town retreat! The dates are January 17-19, 2025! SHINE weekend is one of our best times together for growth and connection. SHINE is a wonderful opportunity for our students to invite friends who do not yet have a church home. All students have the opportunity to focus on and grow their relationship with Christ in a fun, safe, and exciting environment. Our goal for SHINE weekend is for students to encounter Christ, build life-long friendships, and make memories that will last a lifetime. The weekend launches us into a new year of ministry and sets the tone for what's to come! Each year we bring in a band and speaker to lead worship and teaching. Additionally, we stay in host homes divided by grade and gender provided by church families. 2-3 adult ministry safe certified and trusted leaders are placed in homes to lead the group throughout the weekend. Our goal for these students is to always grow in Christ and in community. Hope to see you at SHINE!
