First Methodist Church of Waco has a rich 175-year history
First Methodist Church of Waco has a rich 175-year history. Over the years, we’ve fostered close-knit relationships with the Waco community and surrounding areas. We’re always expanding our ministry and growing our congregation to impact those around us for the Kingdom.
It is our heartfelt desire to make all people feel welcome here. At each of our campuses, we provide a variety of worship styles, including contemporary and traditional services throughout the weekend. We invite everyone to fellowship with us, learn more about the Gospel, and get involved in our church community!
Our Purpose
WORSHIP - FAITH FORMATION - SERVICE - OUTREACH
We try to be intentional with every ministry, event, and activity that we do at First Waco. At the heart of our congregation are the five purposes of God’s church that he calls out in His word.
First Methodist Waco operates under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, contains everything necessary for salvation, and instructive for daily living. We believe that the essentials of the faith are contained in the Apostles' Creed, a statement that dates back to the early days of the church's existence. And while our history has much to offer us, we know that the future of the church demands that we baptize, teach, and obey.
We have a rich heritage that values scriptural authority, personal and social holiness, passionate worship, serving those in need, and the importance of small groups for study, prayer, and accountability.
Our Mission Statement is: Make Disciples of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28:19-20: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you."
