John:

I joined the ministry team at First Waco in January of 2018. God has laid upon my heart a passion for excellence in music and worship! The God who created the universe, painted the skies, formed the mountains, and loved us so much that He gave His life for us, deserves not just our best, but the best! It’s a great joy to serve with an incredible staff and dedicated team of volunteers who are working together to advance God’s Kingdom through worship and music at First Waco!

Family:

I married way above my league! My beautiful wife, Julie, is living out her calling of education by serving as an administrator in Waco ISD. Our son, Tripp, was born in 2017 and keeps us daily on our toes!

Like:

I love music! I’m humbled that God allows me to serve Him through music for a living. Julie and I love to travel. I enjoy the occasional round of golf, fishing, hunting, and teaching my son how to be a true man of God.

Education:

I earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Baylor and then drove down I-35 to complete my master’s at the University of Texas at Austin. But the green and gold in my blood far outweighs the burnt orange!
