CHILDREN & FAMILY MINISTRY
Rev. Analicia Harrell
Ana brings a deep passion for helping families grow together in their relationship with Jesus, with more than 15 years of cross-generational ministry, educational leadership, and hands-on experience in children’s discipleship. She attends Truett Seminary, where she is completing a Master of Divinity.
"My heart is to equip and empower families to grow as disciples and to engage their community to make disciples of all nations. Kids don't need to wait to grow up to have a relationship with God, and I delight in helping them discover who they were always meant to be, the sons and daughters of the King."
FIRST KIDS CHRISTMAS
FAMILY WORSHIP
We are so happy to welcome you and your family to any of our worship services at any of our three locations. Kids Belong Here! We love the sound of children, including their noise, laughter and busy-ness. God made kids active and conversational, and we understand and love this! We love the presence of YOUR children in our church!
With this in mind, here are a few tips to help your children engage in the service:
Relax! It's okay to let kids be kids here.
Sit Close! Consider sitting closer to the front where it is easier for your kids to see what is going on in the service.
Explain! Quietly explain what is going on in the service, so they can understand the different parts of the service.
Join in! Kids learn by example. If you sing, respond, pray and participate in the service, your kids will too!
Need to step out? Sometimes kids just need a break. Feel free to step out if you need to, but please come back. 🙂
- God’s Clubhouse: A New Children’s Worship and Sunday School ModelThe First Kids and Families leadership team has been listening closely to the needs and desires of our families and volunteers—and we’re excited to share some updates! Beginning Sunday, November 30th, all classes will journey through our Advent series: Waiting for Jesus.
We’ll also be trying out a new Sunday school model that combines large group and small group time. Our goal is to give children the opportunity to worship together while also engaging in age-level learning.
- Kindergarten through 4th grade will gather in the Powerhouse at the start of each service for songs, celebrations, and a Bible lesson, then head upstairs to their classrooms for small group time (see the table below for details).
- 5th and 6th grade students will enjoy up to 90 minutes together in their own space to fellowship, study the Bible, and encourage one another in faith.
- Nursery (0–2 years) and Preschool (3–5 years) will remain in their classrooms for the full time, enjoying Bible stories, songs, and activities designed just for them—so they know they are loved and cherished by God.
Each class, from nursery through 6th grade, will focus on the same Bible story each week. We’re also launching “Church To-Go”, a monthly take-home devotional kit designed to help families continue growing in faith throughout the week.
