First Methodist Waco operates under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, contains everything necessary for salvation, and instructive for daily living. We believe that the essentials of the faith are contained in the Apostles' Creed, a statement that dates back to the early days of the church's existence. And while our history has much to offer us, we know that the future of the church demands that we baptize, teach, and obey.
We have a rich heritage that values scriptural authority, personal and social holiness, passionate worship, serving those in need, and the importance of small groups for study, prayer, and accountability.
Our Mission Statement is: Make Disciples of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28:19-20: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you."
